INCENTIVES FOR ARTISTS

Support for Local Artists

Local Publicity

In collaboration with local print publications and radio and television, the Arts Commission will work to highlight local artists with feature articles and coverage.  Artists with retail activities conducted in the designated area will be listed on a community arts map of galleries and local arts institutions and welcomed to participate in gallery walks.  All artists may receive free listing in the Arts Commission online artists directory and access services available through WGTE website for artist microsites with e-commerce options.  WGTE also will have on on-line art gallery option.

National Publicity for Artists

The City of Toledo and the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo will design and implement a national marketing campaign to promote the Artist Live/Work Project utilizing a combination of print ads in trade journals and magazines and web advertising.  After a sufficient density of artists has been achieved in the designated areas to promote easy walkability among galleries, studios, and other cultural venues, the focus of the national advertising campaign will switch to promoting the geographically defined area as an arts haven and shopping district.
